§ 2-142. Designation of code compliance officers.

(a)

For the purpose of this article, the village manager is authorized to designate all code inspectors, fire inspectors and other village employees as "code compliance officers," who shall have the powers and authority to enforce the Code as set forth in this article.

(b)

The training and qualifications of the code compliance officers shall be established by the manager.

(c)

Designation as a code compliance officer does not confer the power of arrest or other law enforcement powers or subject the code compliance officer to the provisions of F.S. ch. 943.

(d)

Nothing in this article shall be construed to amend, alter, or contravene the provision of any retirement or pension plan or system administered by the village.
