§ 2-141. Authority; purpose.

  • (a)

    This article is adopted pursuant to F.S. ch. 162, pt. II (F.S. § 162.21 et seq.) as a supplemental method of enforcing the Code, and is enacted to protect the public health, welfare and safety of the residents of the village.

    (b)

    When not inconsistent with the intent and purpose of this article, the definitions set forth in section 2-87 shall apply herein.

    (c)

    Nothing in this article shall be construed to prohibit the village from enforcing its Code and ordinances by any other means, including, but not limited to, a summons, a notice to appear in the county court, an arrest, an action before the code compliance hearing officer, a civil action for injunctive relief, a stop work order, or demolition.
